Monday 4th June – Watercolour painting and drawing in the wonderful gardens with Peter Scott
In this workshop Peter will explore ways to select a subject from a busy scene and then decide how to approach it in watercolour or pencil. He will also advise on materials and suggest good colours to include in a small set of sketching paints.
You will be supplied with a traditional ‘sanguine’ (terracotta coloured) drawing pencil to try and which you can take home.
It is not necessary to be an experienced watercolour painter or accomplished drawer for this workshop, all levels will be welcome.
Please bring your own materials, including a sketchbook, pad or block suitable for watercolours and a packed lunch.
Time: 10:00 to 16:00. Cost: £45
Regular visitors to the garden will have seen Peter’s paintings exhibited in the Cafe over the last few years. He is an award winning artist and book illustrator with over 40 solo books published worldwide by major publishing houses. He has exhibited in many venues around the country and has paintings in several public collections. Peter has painted outdoors in varied locations, from heat of Africa to the snows of Canada. He currently runs successful weekly watercolour classes at two venues.
