Opening Times & Admission
You can visit from Sunday 1st April 2012 through to Friday 28th September every Wednesday and
Friday and the first and third weekend of every month from 1pm - 5pm. Please check the
calendar below for exact opening days; we are open on the Green Days!
Garden Entry
A single visit is £4.50 or 50p for children aged 5-16. You can alternatively purchase an annual Season
Ticket, allowing unlimited entry (during normal opening times) for just £10.
The garden is free to RHS members on Wednesdays only - we will not be able to accept the card at
weekends.
Group Visits
The gardens and nursery are open to booked visits of 15 people or more. Groups are welcome in normal
opening hours, however if you prefer exclusive access you can come in the evenings or when the garden is
closed by arrangement.
The price includes entry into the garden and a welcome and introduction from Vanessa Cook. The nursery
will also be open to enable you to take away a piece of the garden. Please note we do not offer discounts
for Group Visits.
Should you require refreshments, either tea or coffee and biscuits or wine and nibbles, please let us know
in advance and we are more than happy to arrange this for you.
Parking
We have ample onsite private parking.
Refreshments
Homemade cakes and refreshing teas within our courtyard are a must
for every visitor.
The cafe area in our lovely renovated barn is a place to sit with your
coffee, admire the pictures for sale, flick through magazines and
gardening books and shelter if it is raining! We also have picnic tables
available for your convenience in the grass car park. It is possible to
have lunch in one of the local country pubs, such as The Black Swan
in Escrick or The Blacksmiths Arms in Naburn.
Playground
There is a small playground for our “little visitors”.
Dogs
Please note that dogs are welcome in the grass car park but not in the
gardens. Guide Dogs are of course welcome in all areas.
Come to the garden as often as you like for only £10!
We are now offering our regular visitors the chance to purchase one of
our annual Season Tickets for just £10 for as many visits as you would
like throughout the year (during normal opening times).
Private Hire
We are delighted to offer private hire of our gardens and cafe area by arrangement. You can host
wonderful garden parties, christenings and meetings here. Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss
your requirements.
The National Gardens Scheme (NGS)
We will be participating once again in the National Garden Scheme on 13th May, 17th June and 2nd
September 2012 and all entry fees will be donated. All money taken on refreshments on these days will be
donated to local charities.
The NGS is a registered charity which opens gardens of quality, character and interest to the public. Since
1927 they have raised funds to support nursing and caring charities, and over £25 million in the last 10
years.
Gift Vouchers
We are now offering gift vouchers in all denominations. These make the perfect present for green fingered
enthusiasts. The gift vouchers make a wonderful gift and can be used for admission or plants in the
nursery. Please ask for more information.
