Willow Weaving with Joevanka Gregory
We are delighted to welcome Joevanka Gregory back to lead our willow weaving courses in 2017. Once again she will be here for the half-day willow obelisk course in April. She will then return in August for a new full day Introduction to Frame Basketry course
Joevanka has been weaving with willow for 8 years, initially as something physical and creative to help her get over a long illness. She quickly became quite obsessed with working in this wonderful natural material which is always forgiving and so very strong.
Monday 24th April Make a Willow Obelisk with Joevanka Gregory

This is a very popular course – so early booking is recommended.

Monday August 7th – An Introduction to Frame Basketry
Joevanka will also be exhibiting some of her sculptural pieces in August. She says that she loves how the willow moves and weaves like muscles and sinew through body and the contrast between sculpture and basketry, between free flowing forms to rigid patterns and back again.
She has her own Studio & Gallery in Todmorden, Creative with Nature, where she is developing her art. She regularly works with people of all ages and abilities and with organisations large and small across the North of England connecting people in a very immediate way to our land.
