Willow Weaving with Maggie Cooper
We are delighted to welcome Maggie Cooper to lead our willow weaving workshops for 2019
Maggie Cooper has over thirty years experience in making and teaching how to make many objects in woven basketwork. She will be leading two informative and inspirational courses here. Her students often come back again and again to learn more designs with locally sourced natural materials.
Monday 15th April – Weaving an Obelisk.
Maggie will be here to run two half-day willow obelisk courses. This is a unique opportunity to make a plant support obelisk using willow and hazel. You will learn some basic weaving techniques that make a natural and attractive addition to your flower and vegetable beds, rockeries and borders.

Afternoon Course: 13:30 to 16:00 Cost £40 (including materials)
Monday 8th July – Make a Willow Basket
Make a willow basket in a day, on a beginners basket course. You will learn proper techniques of weaving a sturdy and graceful basket out of pliable and colourful English willows as Maggie passes on this ancient craft skill to a new generation of weavers.
This is a full day course, so you will need to bring a packed lunch with you.
