Monday 14th May – Learning Linocut – In the Meadow.
Helen’s workshop takes you on the printmaking journey as a beginner. Through a series of practical activities using wild meadow plant forms, you will learn all the basic skills.
During the day Helen will guide you carefully through the printmaking process as you draw, design, cut and print. Time to practice with tools and materials will help give you the skill and confidence to produce a simple, monochrome print.
If time allows, Helen hopes to inspire you enough to try ‘nature printing’ your own seed packets too! All materials and tools are provided including the use of a professional press.
Helen’s work will be exhibited in the cafe throughout May.
Time: 10:00-16:30 Cost: £70
Helen is a printmaker, inspired by nature and a passion for plants, creating botanical linocuts from detailed observation and drawing.
Floor tiles provide the printing surface for cutting her designs in relief. The choice of material and tools gives her work a strong, graphic quality.
Helen enjoys giving regular workshops at RHS Garden Harlow Carr to help others explore the creative magic of linocuts. Visit Helen’s website for more.
