Tuesday 10th September – Lose Your Fear of Pruning
We are delighted that a Gardens Illustrated Masterclass is returning to Stillingfleet Lodge Garden after the success of last year’s event.
This year we will be welcoming garden lecturer, Timothy Walker for this masterclass which is very topical in our garden.
Many people worry about pruning the plants in their garden. Timothy Walker, who has a reputation as one of the country’s best gardening lecturers, is determined to make us feel more confident about the process, “the fear of pruning can be dispelled if you follow basic 10 rules” he says; enabling gardeners to shape plants in the way they want and to maximise flowering.
This masterclass will look at understanding the growth habits of plants as a background to the practice of pruning a wide variety of ornamental trees and shrubs.
Time: 10:00 to 16:00. Cost £120 (includes lunch) Booking here
Timothy Walker had a botanical training which led him to work for the University of Oxford Botanic Garden and Harcourt Arboretum from 1986 to July 2014, as Director from 2000. He is now a research lecturer at the university and freelance teacher.
